This was in a sorry state when I bought it, with incorrect hardware installed. I sourced the correct parts (the R tailpiece is notoriously difficult to obtain – Rickenbacker WILL NOT sell you one. Nuts) and put it back to almost normal. There are two large holes near the bridge which I will have to attend to one day.
The paintwork on the back was peeling off. Graham Wheeler refinished it superbly. Once it was white, but as with all white Rics, it had yellowed a lot over the years. The back was sympathetically yellowed. I ought to photograph that bit…
